Multi-talented musician appearing near Spokane Valley

A musician known for his songwriting and his collaboration with other musicians will be performing near Spokane Valley soon.

Myles Kennedy is a native of Boston who was raised in Spokane and Northern Idaho. In 1990, he began his career with the group Cosmic Dust, a jazz ensemble where he was lead guitarist. He was with them for one studio album before he went on his next band, Citizen Swing, who disbanded in 1996 after releasing two albums.

After that, he and Craig Johnson, who was also in Citizen Swing, established The Mayfield Four, a rock band. He was the lead vocalist and guitarist for them, but they disbanded in 2002. Velvet Revolver asked him to audition but he declined, joining Alter Bridge instead in 2004, where he has remained.

Kennedy is known for his work with Slash, the lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses. He worked on Slash’s debut album, for which he co-wrote the song “Starlight.” Kennedy also wrote and sang a second song on the album, “Back from Cali,” the only musician appearing on more than one track.

A review says:
“With his signature jaw dropping vocal style, every note was packed with raw emotion, soaring effortlessly over his incredible guitar playing.”

Myles Kennedy is bringing The Art of Letting Go Tour 2025 to the Knitting Factory in Spokane on February 21. The venue is 919 West Sprague Avenue. Posters are traditionally used to announce performances like this, and organizers can find them at Print shops.
