Fundraiser in Spokane Valley helps people help animals

An upcoming event will help raise funds to support the people who work to save animals.

The Humane Evacuation Animal Rescue Team (HEART) of Spokane is a non-profit group of volunteers who step in to help animals when the need for emergency disaster relief arises. HEART was founded to provide a rapid response when manmade or natural disasters affect the welfare, safety, and health of animals and their humans.

In the past, volunteers from HEART have deployed with SCRAPS, the American Humane, and the ASPCA in many other counties and states throughout the United States. The upcoming event is being planned specifically because of the danger of fire in Washington State in the summer. HEART assists by sheltering animals when their homesteads and lives are threatened by wildfires.

The venue for the event is Craft & Gather on South Dishman Mica Road in Spokane Valley. The facility is making its outdoor patio available, where attendees will find Tito’s vodka, a buffet, cocktails, raffles, a silent auction, live music, and more. Since the event is restricted to those 21 and over, it will be necessary for people to have their IDs with them to check in.

The HEART Spring Fundraiser is scheduled for May 22, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Events like this provide great opportunities for people with similar interests to swap their Business Cards.
