An event is coming up that celebrates community in Spokane Valley.
The annual Valleyfest weekend has been part of life in Spokane Valley for 30 years. The volunteer hosts want nothing more than for everyone to have fun.
Saturday starts with the Step Up For Down Syndrome Walk at 9.00 am, an event that raises funds to support Ds Connections NW, which provides resources and support to those in the area who have been impacted by Down Syndrome.
The day also brings Fishing at the Falls from 10.00 am until 3.30 pm, an event for children under age 14 who will be fishing at the Mirabeau Springs Waterfall. The Spokane Astronomical Society will bring telescopes, and people can stargaze Saturday night starting at sunset. STEAM activities are planned at the Great Room at CenterPlace Regional Event Center from 12.00 pm until 5.00 pm Saturday.
CultureFest will run both days, from 10.30 am until 6.00 pm Saturday and from 11.00 am until 4.00 pm on Sunday, giving people a chance to share cultures, performances, and businesses.
Sunday starts with a Pancake Breakfast at 8.00 am, and a 5K or 10K run, triathlon, and duathlon will start at 8.00 am. A Car Show runs from 9.00 am until 3.30 pm.
The fun-packed weekend is September 23 and 24 at locations throughout Spokane Valley. Organizers could use flyer printing to create handouts with lists of events and a map for attendees.
