Amy's Donuts, a chain that started in Colorado Springs, recently opened its fourth location, this time in Spokane Valley, much to the delight of doughnut lovers in the city.
Amy and Chin Kim started the doughnut business five years ago, aiming to build a small chain of shops. The business grew rapidly, thanks to its colorful and quirky doughnuts, which quickly became famous via social media, as well as word of mouth. When businesses like this open a new location, they can distribute Promotional Products to increase brand recognition.
The popularity of the donuts led the couple to open shops in Tucson, Arizona, and Cleveland, where people lined up to get in on opening day. Last May, the Kims announced their plans to open in Spokane Valley, saying they had chosen the city because of its quality of life, as well as its affordability. They also felt residents of the Inland Northwest needed to have a doughnut shop available, particularly one that was family-friendly.
Amy's Donuts serves over 120 doughnut varieties, with toppings that include rainbow sprinkles, Twix candy bars, and Captain Crunch cereal. One doughnut, the ‘Over the Rainbow’, features dark sky-blue icing, with clouds and a three-dimensional rainbow on top.
Although people were not fighting to get into the shop on opening day, Katherine Bich, the store manager, said business was steady, and everyone enjoyed the treats.
