One of the Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce's biggest events is coming up soon.
The Gem of the Valley Gala 2020 is on the way. The event celebrates local business people and those who have made a difference in the life of the community. This is the 17th year for the gala, which includes an awards ceremony, a live auction, raffles, and a delicious dinner, which includes vegan options on request.
Categories that receive awards are: non-profit organizations; small businesses; medium-sized businesses; large businesses; entrepreneurs; the Harry E. Nelson Citizen of the Year Award; and the “Heart of the Community.” The Nelson award goes to the person who has improved the vitality of the business community, while the “Heart” award is given to the person who best represents the “heart” of Spokane Valley, by their support and efforts on its behalf.
The gala is set for January 24, from 5.30 pm until 8.30 pm. The doors will open at 5.30 pm, with dinner served at 6.30 pm. The venue is the Mirabeau Park Hotel & Convention Center on North Sullivan, and tickets are $75 each. There are also VIP tables, which seat eight, available for $750, and VIP tables plus tickets for the raffle available for $800. There will be no ticket sales on the day of the event.
