Puyallups milestone year celebrated with June festivities

The 75th Meeker Days celebration is taking place in just over a month’s time. Presented by the Puyallup Main Street Association, this year's event is celebrating the 125th anniversary of the city.

There are plenty of events taking place over the three days, and they should appeal to the entire family regardless of age. There is a classic car competition, a farmers' market, the Kid Zone, and beer and wine gardens. There will also be the Meeker Marketplace, which is expected to feature 200 or so vendors selling food and merchandise, or providing information from local community organizations.

Other feature of the festival are set to include a dog lounge, the Mother Goose's Farmyard Fun petting zoo, a trout pond, the Battle of the Bands competition, the Lil' Miss Meeker pageant, and an antique tractor display. There will also be a Solstice Market Supper, which will include dinner and live entertainment.

This is a popular downtown Puyallup event, and no doubt organizers will invest in services such as flyer printing to help spread the word in the community.

Meeker Days will take place in downtown Puyallup from June 19 to 21. Admission is free. The Solstice Market Supper will be held at the Pioneer Park Pavilion on June 21, and tickets are $75. For more information about this annual event, call 253-840-2631.
