Puyallup is bringing back one of summer’s most enjoyable events—music.

The city’s Concert in the Parks series is about to start, giving attendees a chance to enjoy music outdoors on warm summer nights. Food trucks from the Puyallup Night Market will be on hand to ensure no one goes hungry while they enjoy the concert.

The series kicks off with an appearance by a popular Van Halen tribute band, the Atomic Punks. Following their performance, it’s Slim Wizzy’s turn. They are a blues, rock, and country band that is building a following in the Pacific Northwest. The following week, it’s the Journey tribute band Infinity Project, and the final concert is the a capella group The Coats.

Organizers remind everyone to bring lawn chairs and blankets and remember that pop-up tents must be taken down 15 minutes before the show. Smoking and alcohol are banned in all the city’s parks.

The food trucks will be at the venue starting at 5.00 pm, and the concerts start at 6.30 pm. There is no charge for the concerts, but organizers note performances may be cancelled if there is inclement weather. Hygiene items and non-perishable food items for the Puyallup Food Bank will be accepted at the concerts.

The concerts are in Pioneer Park and the Atomic Punks play July 9, Slim Wizzy on July 16, Infinity Project on July 23, and The Coats on July 30. Organizers can support events like this by using poster printing to create advertising.
