Two musicians who often perform as part of a larger group will be in Puyallup as an acoustic duo soon.
The Blue Liz Duet is Annette Hargett and Dave Brumbaugh, who are members of the Blue Lizard Band. Just like the animal in the band’s name, they occasionally break off and continue to function.
Aside from Hargett and Brumbaugh, the Blue Lizard Band consists of Scott Flood, Chuck Hamilton, and Alyssa Koonce. Hargett sings both lead and backing vocals and joined the group in 2012. She has broadened the group’s repertoire by adding songs she loves by artists such as The Doobie Brothers, Joan Jett, Susan Tedeschi, and Stevie Nicks.
Brumbaugh, the founder and leader of the band, has been playing guitar since he was eight. He played in rock bands during high school and college, and is proficient not only on guitar, but also mandolin and bass guitar, as well as spending some time with the hammered dulcimer.
The band has played around the Puget Sound area since 2009, visiting venues from summer festivals to small clubs. The musicians play blues and classic rock, and tailor their setlist for the occasion, playing mostly hits from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
The show is scheduled for February 12 at Cockrell Hard Cider, located at 6613 114th Avenue Ct. E in North Puyallup. Seating is limited, so the venue recommends buying tickets soon. When the book shows like this, organizers can help support them by creating advertising using poster printing.
