An annual national event is coming up, and Puyallup plans to take part.
National Night Out is one of the biggest community events Puyallup holds, and city officials are inviting everyone to take part. National Night Out takes place across the country and gives members of the same community a chance to meet and talk with members of public safety agencies, such as police and fire departments. The evening also helps promote safety throughout the neighborhoods.
The first National Night Out took place in 1984 as a means to increase awareness about community police programs such neighborhood watch, town watch, anti-crime efforts, and drug prevention.
This year, the event will include local first responders from the fire and police services; local vendors; activities suitable for families and children; entertainment and music; giveaways and raffles; and food trucks. Local businesses and community organizations will be on hand to share information about their products and services.
The 2025 event drew approximately 1,000 participants, and organizers hope to make National Night Out even better and bigger this year, with families and their friends invited to get involved.
National Night Out is scheduled for next Tuesday, August 4, from 5.00 pm until 9.00 pm, at 12132 179th Street Court E in Puyallup, near Sunrise Park. Events like this benefit when planners use poster printing to create advertisements about them.
