Puyallup households being offered special spring clean trash pickup

This spring, Puyallup will be inviting residents to take advantage of a program that will give them a chance to dispose of extra trash and yard waste, and have one large appliance that they no longer need recycled, all free of charge.

The city has organized this spring cleanup week, and it is being offered to all Puyallup utility customers. The items for disposal should be placed at the curbside.

People are welcome to leave up to three extra Bags of household garbage along with their regular allocation. It must be in sealed Bags or covered cans, and not weigh more than 40lb. Residents are asked not to leave tires for disposal, as these will not be picked up.

Up to three Bags of yard waste can be left for disposal on a household’s regular pickup day. Those who wish to do so are asked to ensure it is in a garbage can or Bags that are biodegradable, and they will need to be placed at the curbside before 7:00 am.

Puyallup residents can also set out one large appliance for recycling, which will be picked up on April 30. The items that will be accepted include hot water tanks, trash compactors, freezers, stoves and dishwashers. Brochure printing can be used to create informational materials that can be sent to all local households to let them know more information about an event like this.

This spring cleanup week will run from April 30 until May 5. Anyone who would like further details can find them on the community’s website.
