Puyallup hosts an old-fashioned Christmas

The 28th annual Victorian Country Christmas Festival is taking place next month for five days. The festival promises to bring back the joy of holidays past by offering some traditional activities.

Santa's Village will have free cookies for the kids, a Cinderella coloring station, photographs with Santa Claus, and a balloon twister. There will also be an art station, face painting, carriage rides, the Santa Tram and the Christmas Carousel. The adults in attendance can be entertained in the Winter Wine Garden and can sample a wide variety of gourmet foods and drinks. There is also set to be a singing nativity performance.

The second day of the festival will be Seniors’ Day. There will be a fashion show, door prizes, and music from Laurie Miller in the Holiday Jubilee Theater.

In addition, visitors can start off their holiday gift buying at the more than 500 shops that will offer lots of choices. There will likely be handmade jewelry, Christmas decorations, clothing and works of art for sale. They are sure to find something for that special friend or family member.

The Victorian Country Christmas Festival will take place at the Washington State Fair Events Center from December 2 to 6. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students between the ages of 6 and 18, and $9 for active military members.
