The Puyallup running community has extended an invitation to area residents of all ages to participate in an event that will, quite literally, help to “buy the farm”.
Rainier CrossFit has planned a fundraising run in support of local efforts to purchase an area farm that will provide adults with developmental and intellectual challenges with a place they can call their own. The participants can choose between the two- or five-kilometer routes, and a 10-mile option is also available.
The organizers have planned for the runs to be family friendly, and people can choose to run or walk along the course they select. The two-kilometer option will be suitable for strollers and those who need a mobility device, such as a wheelchair. The different paths will all offer the participants a chance to enjoy the scenery along the routes, but they are reminded to come dressed for the weather, as it will likely be raining.
At 8:00 am, the runners, walkers and rollers will gather at 19001 Cascadia Boulevard East in Bonney Lake before heading out for the day. Banners, race bibs, course Signs, and more for this type of outdoor fundraising event can be sourced from an area printing services provider.
January 27 has been chosen as the day for this event which will combine a day of family fun with fundraising for others in the local community. More details about the run, as well as the farm, can be found on the NorthStar Neighborhood website.
