Puyallup area event to teach secrets of soap making

Before the end of this month, a Puyallup area workshop will guide members of the public through the process of making cold process soap.

During Handmade Soap 101, the participants will watch a live demonstration of the techniques used in the cold process, and after this, they will be able to engage in hands-on learning by making their own. Each person will walk away with one pound of soap, as well as written step-by-step instructions, which they can take home with them.

Refreshments, including tea, coffee and snacks will be served, and the students will each receive a resource list and basic soap recipe. The session is open to anyone over the age of 18, but it can only accommodate up to six people. Those who plan on taking part are asked to wear long sleeves while they work. Digital copying can be used to produce Copies of any handouts that will be distributed during an event like this.

This introduction to cold process soap making will be facilitated by Aroma Soap Lab, and has been planned to be both fun and informative. The registration fee has been set at $70 per person, and it will be taking place at 2911 South 368th Street in Federal Way. It will be held on January 27, and is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon.
