Annual expo to be a darn good show

The Sewing and Stitchery Expo is coming to Puyallup this February. It is the nation’s largest consumer show of its kind.

There are set to be 100 seminars on every aspect of sewing, along with workshops and style shows. There will also be demonstrations and hands-on classes. There are expected to be more than 400 booths featuring vendors from all over the world, who will be selling fabrics, sewing accessories, and handmade quilts.

In addition, there will be a couple of social events: ‘Friday Night Live’ featuring a performance by Eileen Roche and Marie Zinno (The Stitching Sisters), and ‘Quilter's Night Out’, which is a lecture by Mark Lipinski. These events cost $25 each to attend.

Visitors are expected to number over 30,000 and are encouraged to donate hand-sewn pillow cases to the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge for Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. They will be collected by the Pillow Patrol.

To advertise this expo beyond the Puyallup area, organizers may invest in Flyers from local printing companies, since Flyers are inexpensive to produce and easy to distribute.

The expo is taking place at the Washington State Fair Event Center from February 26 to March 1. Admission is $12 per day or $40 for all four days. Call 1-866-554-8559 for more information about this upcoming show.
