YMCA springs into step

Once again it is time for Olympians to get on their running gear and support a good cause, as the YMCA’s 27th annual run fundraiser sees proceeds go to support the Y’s Youth Development Initiatives.

This run is open to people of all ages, as well as teams of runners. The YMCA might have used a selection of poster, flyer and postcard printing services to promote this fundraiser to people in this area and in the community.

The run is divided into various age categories and features a kids’ run at 8:30am, followed by a two-mile run and a 10K run, which both start at 8:45am. All teams that compete and have 20 or more people registered will be eligible to receive free shoes provided by South Sound Running. Some restrictions for the shoes apply, so please see the team entry form for additional details. Awards will be given to the top three runners in each of the age groups, and for top male and female runner in the two-mile and 10K runs.

The YMCA’s 27th Annual Spring Run will be happening on Saturday, May 3, beginning at 8:30 am, with race packets to be picked up on Friday, May 2, between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm at the downtown YMCA location. The packets include the map of the route and all the details about participating. To learn about each of the races, please visit the Olympia YMCA website or call the office at 360-357-6609.
