Small business owners from Olympia and throughout the entire state are responsible for learning which taxes they need to report, and the
Washington State Department of Revenue has set up a program to help them with this.
The department has organized a series of free workshops that will provide participants with an introduction to taxes. These seminars will be held in various cities throughout the state, including Olympia, and one-hour webinars will also be offered throughout the year on its website.
The topics covered during the sessions will include reporting classifications, state excise taxes, tax incentives, deductions, sales tax collection, and also recordkeeping requirements that are mandated by the state. A printer can custom design business Forms to make this as simple as possible.
Along with the instruction, those who participate will also be given a workbook and a reference guide that will provide further information and clarification about and the department’s policies and regulations. They may also be eligible to receive one continuing education credit for taking part. The workshop instruction will be able to provide further details about this.
Those who would like to learn more are invited to visit http://dor.wa.gov/Workshops. They can also contact Washington State department of Revenue’s Rick Stedman at 360-705-6624 if they need further clarification about the workshops and what they cover.
