The city of Miami has received an unsolicited proposal to work with the city to renovate the Olympia Theater, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The proposal was received from New Urban International, which is a real estate asset management company.
The plan will be reviewed by city commissioners who will need to follow-up with a formal request for proposals from other interested parties. The theater, which is located at 174 E. Flagler Street, is currently owned by the city. Miami Dad College has also been negotiating with the city to take over operation of the theater.
Should the proposal be accepted, New Urban International has plans to invest funds to refurbish the theater and create a boutique hotel from the re-positioned residential tower. Parties involved in such projects often consult Print shops for help with creating a unique Logo Design.
The proposal outlined the intent to also seek a long-term lease, along with a plan for half of the net revenues from the hotel to be distributed to local charities.
The property is in need of repair and the proposal from New Urban International is offering to put up the funds to get the work done. Any work must be done through the National Register of Historic Places set requirements and within the standards of the City of Miami Historic Preservation Office.
