Olympia residents are invited to come to a Fourth of July celebration that will be a little out of the ordinary.
The Tumwater Valley golf Club will be making its course available for the Fairways and Fireworks Fore on the 4th Fun Run. Participants will be able to avoid traffic lights, cars and exhaust as they run or walk the four mile long route through the golf course.
The entry fee for the walk or run is $20.00 each, and this includes a gift for participating as well as an opportunity to be eligible for draws. A Print company can be called upon to work with the organizers of this type of function to create customized items that can be used a prizes. People are encouraged to come dressed in their most patriotic outfits. In addition to the outdoor activities, a buffet breakfast will be offered at The River’s Edge for an additional $10.95.
Those who are interested in taking part in the event, which is scheduled for July 4th, are asked check in at the course, starting at 7:30 am, with the run scheduled to begin at 9:00 am. Proceeds from the day will go towards supporting the First Tee Junior Golf Scholarship program for disadvantaged youth in the community.
