Making pastry at home may sound like a complicated process, but those who take a seat in a workshop that will be offered in Olympia may just find it is as easy as pie.
GRuB Farmhouse has planned a pastry making workshop that will share secrets for making pie with a light and flaky crust. Martha Chubb will provide the instruction for the occasion.
The class will be led through the steps of making crust for a double-crusted pie or two single-crusted pies. They can even make a single pie shell during the session, and they will also have a chance to do some taste testing of a pre-made pie as well. Those who plan to make a pie shell of their own are reminded to bring a suitable pan and a rolling pin, and the registration fee is $7 each.
An event like this can be a lot of fun, and it can be an inexpensive idea for an afternoon out. Giving each of the learners a recipe card printed with the ingredients and instruction for making the pie crust can help them to make the most from an event like this, and Stationery printers can provide them.
GRuB Farmhouse has scheduled this pie making class for September 15. It is located at 2016 Elliot Avenue NW.
