Olympia workshop to bring wild edibles into the kitchen

With a little bit of knowledge, members of the public may find living an eco-friendly life to be a lot easier than they thought, and an Olympia event can help to put their feet on the path to sustainability.

A workshop that will be hosted by GRuB Farmhouse will be all about collecting an edible harvest from the wild. The learners will discover the many plants that can be found in the local area that are both tasty and nutritious, and they can also help an individual or family to make their food budget stretch.

The group will be taught how to identify both native and non-native species that are edible, and they will also be given tips about how they can both forage and harvest using sustainable techniques. In addition, they will find out about ways the plants they have collected can be preserved for future use, and all of this will be taught with an emphasis on responsible harvesting.

This class is open to anyone who is interested in showing the earth a bit of love, or who just wants to explore greens, other vegetables and fruit they have not tried before. Handouts will be provided, and a company that prints Letterheads and other Stationery can supply items like these.

GRuB Farmhouse will be offering its Edible Weeds workshop on July 14. The registration fee is $7 each, and it will begin at 1:00 pm.
