Olympia run to raise both funds and diapers

The whole community has been asked to get behind a fundraising event next month.

A diaper drive, which has been organized by Doulas Northwest, will serve as a funding and awareness raiser. Both cash donations and contributions of gifts in kind such as diapers will be appreciated, and these will then be distributed to those who need them.

Dubbed the “No Child Wet Behind – Olympia - Diaper Drive”, this 5K race, which will also boast a family fun run, will be held in Heritage Park. The course has been described as being flat and suitable for beginners, so all ages and fitness levels are welcome to lace up their sneakers and get involved. Sponsorships from members of the local business community are being sought, and this support will help the event to reach its goals.

One of the tasks the organizers of this sort of function usually have to undertake is promoting it to the local area. A poster printing company will be able to lend a hand, and can work with a variety of budgets and custom design requests.

This opportunity to offer Olympia families in need a hand up will be welcoming runners and walkers on May 13. Registration will open at 8:00 am. Anyone who would like to find out more about the function is asked to visit the Olympia Chamber of Commerce’s website.
