The Nisqually National Wildlife refuge will once again be playing host to the Nisqually Watershed Festival, and people from Olympia are invited to come and join in the fun.
This will be the 27th year for the annual event, and it will feature something for everyone, no matter what their age. There will be guided nature walks, a lecture series, live music and food, and coffee will be provided. Those who bring along a T-shirt will be able to create their own fish Print.
A variety of entertainment will take place on the main stage throughout the day. There will be a show featuring live raptors, as well as performances by the Olympia Highlanders, the Canoe Family Dancers, the Nisqually Abisch, Wolf Camp, and Reptile Woman. The lecture series, which will be held in the auditorium in the refuge’s visitor center, will include a series of 30 minute talks about a variety of topics involving issues facing the watershed. The Nisqually Watershed Festival will take place on September 24. On the day of the festival, guests are asked to park at River Ridge High School. A free shuttle will take them to and the parking lot to the festival.
