Olympia prepares for festive December event

Olympia is already getting ready for a winter holiday season full of festive fun, and its downtown core will be rolling out the red, white, and green carpet for locals and visitors once December begins.

The downtown retail district will be welcoming another installment of LoveOly WinterFest. It will kick off the season at the start of December, and the festivities will be on offer at the intersection of 5th and Washington.

The plans for the afternoon will see Santa stopping by to visit the kids, and he will be taking pride of place at the 222 Market. There will be live entertainment and crafting stations to help keep the younger guests entertained. Everyone can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides and complimentary hot chocolate. Festive storytelling is on the agenda, and a pop-up market will be in the mix as well to help the crowd get started on their gift buying.

To encourage everyone to come out and explore all that downtown Olympia has to offer, the city will be running its Shop and Dine promotion. Stickers will be provided to the holder each time they make a purchase of at least $10 at participating venues. Once these are full, they may be turned in by the bearer in exchange for Corporate Gifts.

LoveOly WinterFest will bring chilly but festive fun to Olympia on Sunday, December 1. It will be open from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
