What's Happening in Olympia, WA…

This month, athletes in Olympia can take part in a challenging obstacle race.

The Rugged Maniac features a three-mile course with 25 obstacles, including a giant water slide and underground tunnels. Participants will also have the opportunity to jump over fire, run through mud, and climb over walls.

Runners can choose whether or not they want to be chip timed. The top three male and female finishers overall, along with the top performers in different age categories, will receive several different prizes and complimentary registration to an upcoming Rugged Maniac event.

After the run, individuals can hang out at the after-party where there will be a bounce house, dancing, and more fun.

To get the word out about this event, a postcard printing service could send a direct mailer to Olympia residents.

Registration costs $89 before July 22 and $100 on event day. To participate, individuals must be at least 14 years old. Registration includes a T-shirt, finishers medal, fresh fruit, and free beer (if 21) and photos. High school and college students, along with military members, will get a $10 discount. Spectators get in for free. Parking is an additional $10.

The race will be held at Straddleline ORV Park, located on 5015 West State highway 8.

It all takes place on July 25, beginning at 10:00 am. There will be different wave start times and individuals are encouraged to arrive an hour and a half before their start time.
