Olympia farm sets date for sunflower festival

As summer wraps up, Olympia residents will be heading to a local farm where they will be treated to the sight of fields of sunflowers as well as a list of activities.

Rutledge Corn Maze has set the dates for its annual Sunflower Festival, and everyone who comes out will be able to stroll through the flower-filled fields. The venue is located at 302 93rd Avenue SE, and admission starts at $10 each.

The festival will see the public snap some photos while they walk through the fields, and they will be able to take some of the beauty home by purchasing a bucket of sunflowers. Vendors will be on site with food such as ice cream, grilled cheese and lemonade slushies. The tetherball, spun chairs, Zach the Tractor, and the venue’s jump pad will be available. There will be three acres of flowers, and a platform will be set up to provide a view from higher up. The ticket price will depend upon which one is selected.

Agricultural venues often host special events during the harvest season, and these can be fun learning experiences. They will have the opportunity to learn more about farming, and printing services companies can craft Promotional Products to sell or offer as swag.

The Rutledge Family Farm will be running its annual Sunflower Festival from August 17 until September 2. Its website will have the most current information.
