Olympia event to share secrets of echinoderms

The echinoderms are a group of marine animals with skins that are often tough or spiny, and a during an Olympia presentation, they will be the stars of the show.

Creature such as brittle stars, starfish, sea cucumbers, sand dollars, sea urchins and other invertebrates in the group will be the topic of the Stars, Dollars and Spines event. Those who attend will be able to learn more about these creatures, and throughout the day, there will be arts and crafts and other programming related to them on offer.

The discussion will answer questions such as whether or not sea cucumbers are edible and the function of a brittle star’s Aristotle’s Lantern, and will share many other secrets of these animals. The presentation is free to attend, and all ages are invited to add to their knowledge of marine life.
