Olympia event to introduce octopi and other cephalopods

Oceans and seas around the world are home to many amazing animals, and an Olympia event will shine a spotlight on a group that continues to surprise.

Cephalopods are a group of animals in the crustacean or shellfish family, including squid and octopi, some of which can be found in local waters. Nautiluses and cuttlefish are also in this class of animals, and they will all be discussed during A Celebration of Cephalopods, which will be hosted at the WET Science Center in June.

These marine animals, especially octopi, are often noted for their intelligence, and the sessions will provide an opportunity to learn more about what they can do. There will be themed activities as well as crafts. Entry is included with museum admission. While the focus will be on cephalopods, the organizers note that there will not be any live animals in attendance.

Offering the public the opportunity to learn about wildlife is one of the roles often undertaken by an environmental group or natural science museum. A poster printing company can craft signage that combines information with graphic design elements, potentially helping attendees to gather even more information.

This introduction to the world of cephalopods and what makes them tick is scheduled for Saturday, June 8. It will run from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
