Olympia activity to explore wastewater treatment

Kids and adults alike who are interested in environmental stewardship may find that they have a lot to learn when it comes to wastewater treatment, and an Olympia event will explore the process.

The team at the WET Science Center offers the public opportunities for hands-on learning, and one of its initiatives will give an insider’s view of a wastewater treatment plant and how it protects the environment. It is restricted to those age 10 and up, and closed-toed shoes are mandatory.

The activity will open with a presentation by a staff member of the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant, and after this, the group will be led on a guided tour. They will learn what the plant can and can’t accommodate, and everyone will have a chance to try their hand at a series of experiments that will be set up for the afternoon.

Public utilities that want to engage with the community they serve may rally benefit from the services of a brochure printing company. They can prepare informational materials with full color photos, charts, and other graphics, and these may be quite friendly to their overall marketing budget.

The Budd Inlet Treatment Plant has made arrangements to offer this behind-the-scenes look into its operations on August 26, and hopes to give an interesting and important look at a topic some may see as unappealing.
