Olympia geology lovers who have been looking for a new way to learn may wish to sign up now for a workshop that will explore the rocks and minerals that can commonly be found in Washington state.
For one evening in early March, The Olympia Center will be playing host to a four hour long workshop that will give those who are interested in geology and mineralogy a chance to brush up on their identification skills. Metamorphic, igneous, and sedimentary rocks will all be covered, and there will also be an exploration of the most common minerals to be found in the state.
The class will be led by David Kaynor, who is a member of the Geologic Society of America. He will guide the hands-on exploration, and all of the tools that will be used during the workshop will be supplied to the attendees. They can ask questions, and it can be a good opportunity for them to add to their knowledge.
The organizers of the activity noted that, along with the use of the tools, each of the learners will receive handouts and other learning materials. Stationery printers can supply items like these, as well as promotional Pens and other products.
Olympia rockhounds will be joining together for this learning opportunity on March 3. The registrants are asked to arrive by no later than 6:30 pm.
