Arts Walk returns to Olympia

Once again, downtown Olympia will play host to another Arts Walk as October begins.

This year, 91 businesses will be taking part in the two-day event. They will showcase a variety of artistic efforts, ranging from painting to ceramics, prints, fibers, photography, and sculpture. Along with these, performance artists, musicians, and dancers will be putting on performances for the public.

Maps of the route, and a rundown of who will be performing or hosting a show at the venues, will be provided at the Olympia Center and Olympia City Hall, as well as participating locations. A Stationery printing company will be able to produce these, as well as Signs and Brochures.

The Hands on Children’s Museum will provide artistic activities for the kids. There will be a chance for them to create art of their own, and also to have their faces painted.

The sponsors for this year’s Arts Walk include the Olympia Arts Commission, and the City of Olympia Parks’, Arts and Recreation Department. Additional support was given by several different local companies, the participating businesses, and the artists who will have their work displayed.

The event is scheduled to take place on October 2 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm, and October 3rd from noon until 5:00 pm. Anyone who would like to have more information is invited to contact Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation at 360-753-8380.
