Upcoming awards to honor both business leaders and educators
The 2014 Pillars of Strength Business and Education Awards are returning to Longview this May, hosted by the Kelso Longview Chamber of Commerce.
Attendees will be treated to a dinner buffet and an awards program. There are a variety of accolades to be handed out, including Business Person, Large Business, and Non-profit of the Year.
The award that educators receive is called the Crystal Apple, and a total of five are handed out each year, covering such categories as Administrator, Teacher, or Support Role of the Year. In order to qualify for the honor, educators must be full-time, permanent employees of local schools or colleges.
This will no doubt be an important networking event for both business leaders and educators in the Longview area. Some of those who are planning to attend this event are no doubt lining up a new business card printing order in advance, making sure that their cards are in good condition and that they have enough of them to exchange with their peers without committing the faux pas of running out.
