Longview celebrates Independence Day with three-day festival
The annual Go Fourth Festival is taking place over three days this coming week in Longview.
There will be plenty of activities happening during the festival, including a kids’ festival featuring a petting zoo and carnival games, a cardboard boat regatta, and Longview Fire Fighters Hole in One Golf.
A number of Timbersport competitions, two of which are world champion events sanctioned by the American Lumberman's Association (ALA), are also planned. Some of the contests include the Springboard Chop, Jack and Jill Bucking, Pole Climbing, and Axe Throwing. The contest entrance fee is $40 and cash prizes are available to be won in the pro, special event, and world championship. In addition, visitors can shop for handmade arts and crafts, enjoy concerts from artists like Billy D and the Hoodoos, and purchase plenty of food and drinks.
Independence Day will feature a parade, the theme of which for this year is ‘Proud to be an American’. Later in the day, there will be a spectacular fireworks show.
Many of the parade participants will likely wish to hang a banner from their float or being one to carry in front of their marching band. Longview banner printing companies are often asked to provide these products.
The Go Fourth Festival will be held in and around Lake Sacajewea Park from July 2 to 4. Admission is free. To find out more about the festival, or to become a vendor, call 360-578-2553.
