What's Happening in Kelso, WA…

Longview over the moon with fundraising event pair

Mint Valley Golf Course in Longview is offering two unique events to residents this October. Both will raise funds to benefit Longview Recreation's therapeutic programs.

The first event will be the Moonlight Run at Mint Valley and, as the name suggests, it will take place while the sun is going down. Runners will receive glow necklaces and bracelets, and are also encouraged to wear clothing that glows in the dark. Food and drinks will be available later in the club house. Registration fees are $10 per person.

The evening after that will see the Moonlight Golf Tournament swing into town. This is a nine-hole scramble in which players will receive one glowing golf ball (extras can be purchased for $4 each). Prior to the game, they can enjoy a happy hour in the club house. Fees are $45 per person for non-residents or $40 for residents of Longview. Registration is limited to 36 golfers.

Some of Longview Recreation's therapeutic programs include Camp Will, which is a day program for children and young adults with intellectual or physical disabilities.

The posters advertising both of these events are likely to have been provided by poster printing companies in Longview. They might also produce flyers to be distributed to various public buildings.

The Moonlight Run is being held on October 10 from 6:15pm to 7:30pm. Call 360-442-5400 to get more information. The Moonlight Golf Tournament takes place from 6:30pm - 10:30pm on October 11. For more information, call 360-442-5442.
