What's Happening in Lacey, WA…

There will be plenty of outdoor entertainment provided in Lacey this summer.

Thanks to the Lacey in Tune effort, youngsters will enjoy a series of programs on Tuesdays in Huntamer Park. The season kicks off with a performance by The Not-Its.

The Not-Its are a “kindie rock” band based in Seattle who have been together for ten years. Their live concerts and albums give youngsters their first taste of a rock show, but at a level suitable for their ages. The Not-Its recently released “Ready Or Not!”, their seventh album, and are ready to bring their energy to the stage in Lacey.

Next up is a change of pace, thanks to Creature Teachers. This wildlife company was founded by animal lovers who noted children today often see animals only in photos. They are especially fond of “unlovable” animals like amphibians, reptiles, and “creepie crawlies.” At the upcoming event, Creature Teachers will talk have “animal ambassadors” children can touch and pet.

Rounding out the month is the Talewise: Saving Earth Together Science Show. In this story, a mastermind is out to pollute the earth and must be stopped. During the show, youngsters will help the scientist conduct experiments and learn about chemical reactions, laws of motion, air pressure and more, all to help take the villain down.

Lacey in Tune Tuesdays starts July 11 with The Not-Its, continues with Creature Teachers on July 18, and finishes with Talewise on July 25. All shows start at 6.30pm; organizers can use flyer printing to create programs for each show.
