An upcoming event is for people who love games, trading cards, and fun.
The Magic Agent: Day of Games is a full-day Gaming Festival that will be held at the Thurston County Fairgrounds Expo Center. The most important part of the day is arguably a Magic: the Gathering (MTG) Draft.
Two or more people can play MTG either with physical cards in person, or on a tablet, smartphone, or computer using virtual cards. A Draft takes place when players choose cards from a limited, specific subset that either gives them an immediate advantage in the game, or helps them assemble additional hands of cards.
Another part of the day is a 32-person Pauper Tournament, which is also part of the MTG universe. Beginning players may start their adventure with a basic kit for about $60 but over time, and at higher levels, people may spend hundreds of dollars annually on the game. The pauper concept allows players to collect cards for much less.
Other activities include a swap meet for hobbyists, demonstrations of board games, and a chance to network with other game enthusiasts. In addition, Kataclysm will demonstrate its new game Galactic Kata Underground.
The Gaming Festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, from 11.00 am until 4.00 pm, and the fairgrounds are located at 3054 Carpenter Rd SE in Lacey. Admission is free, and organizers of events like this can promote them using poster printing to create colorful advertisements.
