Warm weather brings several series of events to Lacey’s parks.
Lacey encourages everyone to enjoy the upcoming Lacey in Tune, a series of free events that take place every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday in Huntamer Park, and are suitable for all members of the family.
There are three series on the schedule including Children’s Entertainment, which begins with the Ian Dobson-Steel Drum Party, a celebration of Caribbean music, followed by The Rad Scientist. Mikey, who is known as The Rad Scientist, is a science educator and musician who blends stories and songs with audience participation and movement and uses his energy to invite audiences to explore subjects such as weather, animals, and the natural world.
Recess Monkey is a popular trio of local teachers who weave puns and jokes into their music to address the universal themes of childhood, an approach that reaches both kids and their parents. The series ends with the Reptile Lady, an exotic animal educator who seeks to instill respect and love for all animals including reptiles. She is following in the footsteps of her father, the highly regarded Reptile Man.
Ian Dobson is scheduled for July 7, The Rad Scientist appears July 14, Recess Monkey is July 21, and the Reptile Lady is set for July 28. When they plan major events like this, organizers can help publicize them by distributing informational sheets, which they can create with flyer printing services, throughout the area.
