What's Happening in Lacey, WA…

An event that allows everyone to learn about other cultures is once again on the schedule in Lacey.

Lacey’s Cultural Celebration has been held for more than 30 years, first in Olympia and then in Lacey, where it has been since 2011. Activities, entertainment, parking, and admission are free, but people who are planning to attend should bring some money for souvenirs and food.

A Lacey official once observed that the celebration strengthens the health of individuals, the economy, and the community by giving residents the chance to learn about one another and interact in a positive way. At the event, people share skills, crafts, dancing, food, music, art, and stories, all of which lead to an enhanced quality of life for the city.

In 2021, because of health concerns, the Cultural Celebration was held in a virtual format only. This year, it is hybrid, with both virtual and in-person options available. People who go to the venue in person will have a chance to watch performances and demonstrations, spend time at information booths, and shop with local vendors. Organizers of events like this can enhance the experience of attendees by working with brochure printers to create informative pamphlets about participating organizations.

The cultural celebration in-person will take place March 12, from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm, and will be available for virtual visits from March 12 until April 11, including virtual vendors’ booths. The venue for the in-person celebration is Saint Martin’s University.
