Prizes up for grabs at event in Lacey

An upcoming event in Lacey will have participants quacking up at a Duck Dash.

For the 36th year, the Lacey Rotary is holding its Duck Dash, a traditional day of philanthropy and family fun. The day includes games, prizes, and a car show, with the raffle drawing to cap off the day. Every cent raised goes to long youth programs, local nonprofits, and international service projects. Over the years, the Duck Dash has had a significant impact on individuals and communities.

The day includes a chance for young people 14 and under to win a new bicycle. Anyone who enters the raffle has a chance to win an outstanding prize. This year, the items include a 14k white gold diamond ring, courtesy of Kluh Jewelers; a $1,500 cash prize thanks to Flying Colors Painting, a $5,000 cash prize from LUV Cookies, an eight-night trip to Maui thanks to DeTray’s, and more.

The car show is a popular part of the day, displaying both custom and classic vehicles, and a Kids Zone will have face painting, bounce houses, and games. Organizers of outdoor events like this can enhance the fun by creating decorations using banner printing.

The Duck Dash is set for June 7, from 11.00 am until 4.00 pm, at the Thurston County Fairgrounds. To enter the raffle, people have to buy a duck (rubber) for $10; a flock of ten is $100. The raffle drawing is at 4.00 pm, but the winner need not be present.
