Paint party scheduled for Lacey

A fun and unusual event is coming to Lacey, and everyone is invited.

Konnex is bringing a painting party to Top Rung, giving anyone who would like to try their hand at painting an opportunity to do so. Budding Monets and Picassos will create a painting to take home with them, and enjoy free craft beer at the same time.

Konnex Traveling Paint and Sip provides everything attendees need for the evening. An artist will teach basic artistic techniques, and give insider tips as well. The painters will also be encouraged to add their own touches to their work. The painting they will copy is “The Lovers Path,” which they will create using acrylic paints on canvas.

Top Rung is a locally owned brewery started from scratch by two local firefighters in 2014. Before that, they had been enjoying home brewing, and entered the “Beer for a Cure” competition held by Dicks Brewing. Their brew, which they called HoseChaser Blonde, won first place. The developed a business plan, and opened their brewery. The brewery is small, offering only snacks and warm pretzels, but patrons may bring food in if they wish.

The paint night party is set for March 24, from 6.00 pm until 8.30 pm. Top Rung Brewery is on Hogum Bay Lane Northeast. Tickets are $35, which includes all supplies. Flyer printing can be used to create instruction sheets for this kind of event.
