Lacey to host group painting day

Painting events, where people gather to copy a painting, are popular, and one is on the schedule in Lacey.

This in-person class will take place at Top Rung Brewing, and features Rikki, an art coach and artist, who will guide participants through every step so they can successfully recreate a painting called “The Wave.” The painting depicts a dark blue wave with a white crest breaking in front of the setting sun, which is a brilliant yellow/orange.

Top Rung will have many of its craft beers available to those taking the class and are offering a 10% discount. They will also provide non-alcoholic beverages. Top Rung serves patrons of all ages, although beer is restricted to those age 21 and over.

Top Rung was created by Casey and Jason, who are firefighters with the McLane/Black Lake Fire Department. They enjoy good beers, and were interested in learning about brewing, and finally started home brewing. They brewed for several years before entering a contest with their HoseChaser Blonde. They won first place, and decided to turn their hobby into their business, opening Top Rung in 2014.

Organizers believe the entire evening will give people a chance to reduce stress and unwind. The brewery asks that all participants follow the health guidelines in place at the time of the event.

Since there are limited seats available, pre-registration is necessary for this event, which takes place on August 10. Flyer printing can be used to create instruction sheets for events like this.
