One of the most colorful events in Lacey will light up the city again this year.
The Lacey Holiday Lights celebration takes place in Huntamer Park, which is lit up for the holidays. The fun begins with the official tree lighting, but trees throughout the park are also decorated with thousands of lights. Activity booths and food vendors will be part of the evening, and the park will be lit throughout December. An interactive light display that people can hear on their car radios will add to the magic.
Although a holiday parade is traditionally part of Lacey’s celebration, this year the parade has been replaced by a static display of lighted vehicles, which will be located throughout the park. Visitors will be able to see them close. Individuals, clubs, and businesses are all invited to decorate their vehicles with lights, which will allow them to compete for “Most Cheer” and other titles. There is no charge to enter a vehicle in the contest, but there is limited space so anyone who is interested should apply as soon as possible.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the party, and visitors will be able to take photos with them.
This year, the Holiday Lights are scheduled from December 2, from 5.30 pm until 7.30 pm, with the lighting of the tree and park ceremony at 6.00 pm. When organizers plan events like this, they often use banner printing to create seasonal decorations.
