Lacey enjoys summer music and film series

It’s always fun to be outside in the summer enjoying music, and Lacey has several series underway.

Lacey In Tune is winding up for the year with two concerts that pair live music with a film. The events take place in Huntamer Park, with concerts beginning at 7.00 pm, and the film following at dusk. Food vendors are on site, starting at 6.00 pm.

The first concert is the Mick Hart Band, who have been gigging throughout the Pacific Northwest since 2006, appearing everywhere from festivals to private events. All five of the band members are professional musicians, and they concentrate on classic vinyl from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s.

“Migration” is the accompanying film, an animated comedy-adventure about a family of mallard ducks who convince their overprotective father to let them migrate to Jamaica from New England by way of New York City.

Next week it’s Paperback Writer: The Beatles Experience, a Beatles tribute band. They play the hits from the Beatles’ earliest appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” to “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”

The movie is “Barbie,” the 2023 blockbuster fantasy about the iconic doll and her and Ken’s adventures in the real world. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.

The Mick Hart/”Migration” concert is set for August 2, and Paperback Writer/”Barbie” is due to take place on August 9. When events like this are planned, organizers often use banner printing to create decorations suitable for outdoor use.
