What's Happening in Lacey, WA…

Lacey is celebrating its diverse heritage with its Ethnic Celebration.

The event is free, and features activities, displays, and entertainment that showcases various cultures and gives people a chance to learn about many different sights and sounds from all over the world.

Three stages will give bands, drummers, and dancers the space they need to share their art, and they will perform throughout the day. In the afternoon, Portland-based Tears of Joy Theatre will perform ‘Coyote Tales’. The work is a blend of two stories told using costumes, masks, and puppets inspired by Native American art of the Pacific Northwest.

The event offers more than 50 booths providing crafts and food, as well as hands-on activities for children. In the Worthington Center, there will be demonstrations all day of activities like West African drumming.

Again this year, children can take part in the Passport Activity. Each time a child visits a “country” they will receive a stamp on their passport. The first 500 children to complete their passports will win prizes.

The celebration is scheduled for this Saturday, March 11, and runs from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm at Saint Martin's Marcus Pavilion and Worthington Center.

Events like this can benefit if organizers work with a flyer printing company, which can create a handout that lists vendors, performances, and the times of the shows.
