Holiday lighting returns to Lacey

A popular annual event is returning to the area this December.

It is time to light up the night with the Lacey Lighted Parade of Vehicles. Everyone is invited to decorate their vehicles with as many lights as possible and take part in the fun. In past years, the decorated vehicles have included commercial vans, private cars, city buses, firetrucks, and more.

After forming and moving west on Lacey Boulevard SE, the parade will turn right on Sleater-Kinney to 7th Avenue SE, where it will turn right and continue on 7th past Huntamer Park. Streets will be blocked off to allow the parade to pass, but will reopen when the last entrant clears the intersection.

Everyone is invited to follow the parade to Huntamer Park, to join in the Annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree. Santa Claus himself is scheduled to appear as the guest of honor, and will be available to families who want to take photos with him.

After the tree lighting is complete, the entire park will be lit for the holidays, creating a wonderland that people can explore throughout the month of December. In addition, Santa will be reading stories, and local students will be performing holiday music all month, which people can hear on their car radios.

The lighting of the tree and park is scheduled for December 5, from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm. Organizers of events like these can use banner printing to create course markers to make routes easy to follow.
