Hog heaven in Lacey

Harley-Davidson is hosting the 23rd Big Bad Bike Show to bring together people who love motorcycles, and especially Harley-Davidsons, which have been nicknamed “hogs.”

The Northwest Harley-Davidson dealership is the location of the show, but people do not have to ride Harleys to take part; all riders are welcome. The dealership hopes to create a hub for enthusiasts in the South Sound area.

In addition to the bikes themselves, there will be local bands to provide live music, local food vendors bringing goodies for everyone to enjoy, and other businesses to show what services and products they offer. The most fun of all, though, is for those who register their motorcycles—they will be able to show off their rides, and also contribute to a good cause, the Birdwell Foundation for PTSD.

There are a number of show categories including Best Sport, Best Vintage (1969 and before), Best Touring, Best Cruiser, Best Tripod, Best Custom, and Best Classic (1970-1985). There's also a Most Rat category, for bikes so ugly it is difficult to believe they are still running. There will also be a People's Choice award, as well as Best in Show.

The show will be held at Northwest Harley-Davidson on Freedom Lane NE, in Lacey. The date is June 20, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. Businesses taking parts in events like this have an opportunity to distribute Business Cards to visitors.
