Fundraising a different way in Lacey

A fundraiser is coming to Lacey that will march to a slightly different beat to most such events.

The Lords of the Track-Relay for Life Team is partnering with Value Village in Lacey to raise funds for the fight against cancer—by asking people to donate items for resale. The team formed in 1999, and continues to support the American Cancer Society with events like this.

The organizers will accept both “hard” and “soft” goods, but are asking that if possible, donors concentrate on the latter, since Value Village general receives more revenue from them. “Soft” items are tablecloths, curtains, towels, bedding, wallets, accessories, undergarments, jewelry Bags, scarves, hats, shoes, clothing, and other items made of cloth.

“Hard” goods include DVDs, CDs, Books, small appliances such as blenders, small household items, and toys. Value Village will not accept vehicles, swimming pools, boats, large appliances, pets, food, swing sets, infant car seats, computer monitors, televisions, bedding parts, beds, damaged furniture, auto parts, flammable products, construction materials, hazardous materials, cash or other intangible property, or weapons of any kind.

The fundraiser is set for September 5, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Lacey's Value Village. Those who are participating in the event should make certain to let people at the Village know the donation is to go to the Lords of the Track-Relay for Life team. Poster printing can be used to provide signage for events like this.
