A number of training classes in various computer applications are coming up in Lacey.
One of these is Microsoft Excel VBA Training, which is a 16-hour course. There will be a pair of two-hour sessions each week, for a four-week period. The course is led by an instructor and benefits include cloud-based resources, handouts, and training materials, all of which will be provided. Hands-on lab work will also be provided, as will actual scripts, codes, and scenarios drawn from real life.
VBA stands for Visual Basic for Applications, and is a programming interface designed to work with the Excel platform. VBA allows users to automate tasks, as well as controlling other applications found in Microsoft Office, such as MS PowerPoint and MS Access.
The course is aimed at teaching how to automate repetitive manual tasks, and how to develop spreadsheets and models that are self-running. Anyone taking the course should already understand the basics of how Excel works.
Subjects that will be covered in the course include macros; working with objects; working with variables; creating functions and procedures; working with Forms and controls; and adding functionality. Each of these subjects has additional subsets.
The Lacey sessions begin December 8 and continue Tuesdays and Thursdays through the month, ending on December 31. The time is 7:30 am until 9:30 am, Pacific time, each day. Print shops can help develop materials for courses like this.
