A fun festival is returning to Lacey, after taking a year off.
The 2nd Annual Northwest Pirate Festival will be sailing back into Lacey. Attendees are asked to imagine that the year is 1719, and a thriving trading port on the East Coast, Black Sand Bay, is no longer under the control of Captain Galavar, who has passed away due to “natural causes.” This leaves the port wide open for others to take over.
Two pirate captains and their experienced crews, sailing the Emerald Rose and the Freedom’s Revenge, are racing to Black Sand Bay to claim it for their own, which will give them glory and the reputation as the fiercest pirates on the Seven Seas.
These two crews will be on hand at the festival to try and win the support and favor of attendees, using shanties, music, cannons, battles, hijinks, and more. The Galley will be serving food, and The Crow’s Nest Inn will provide grog and rum. Those who would like to shop for souvenirs will find pirate treasure at The Market. Organizers of outdoor events like this can use banner printing to create signage that stands up to weather of all kinds.
The festival is suitable for everyone, and pirates of all ages are encouraged to wear their best pirate gear for the occasion. The 2nd Annual Northwest Pirate Festival gets underway July 10 at 10.00 am and winds up July 11 at 6.00 pm, at the Thurston County Fairgrounds in Lacey.
