Smallcakes: A Cupcakery and Creamery recently opened its first location in the state of Washington, making Issaquah its home.
According to the founder of the chain, Jeff Martin, there is such a rich culture of excellent food and desserts in Issaquah that it seemed a natural location for its brand of cupcakes.
Martin started Smallcakes in Kansas City in 2008, specializing in unique cupcakes baked on a daily basis. His goal is to use quality ingredients to make cupcakes with creative flavors that are moist and tasty.
He has been on the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, where he received national recognition, and since then has been listed by USA Today as one of the Top Ten Cupcake Places to try in the country.
There are 12 signature flavors on the daily menu that include Peanut Butter Cup, Chocoholic, and Red Velvet. The store also rotates more than 240 specialty flavors including Maple Bacon, Fat Elvis, and Kentucky Bourbon.
The Issaquah store will be open seven days a week; hours Monday through Saturday will be 10:00 am until 8:00 pm, and Sunday’s opening times will be noon until 5:00 pm.
Smallcakes might benefit from the assistance of a local printing company to advertise its new location in the Seattle area with descriptions of its various flavors, perhaps by means of Flyers and other printed materials.
