Special hike set for Issaquah

An upcoming hike will include something extra—yoga.

A fitness organization, PNW Ladies Running Group, has organized the event, a combined hike and yoga session that begins at the Chirico Trailhead in Issaquah. Participants are asked to arrive early so they can check in, and then take the trail up to the summit of Poo Poo Point, a hike that should take about 1.5 hours.

Once everyone has reached the top, Robin R., a local yoga instructor, will teach a class designed to rejuvenate and relax participants. They will focus on balance and stretch, learn how to move to their breathing, and how to remain calm during challenging events. This in turn leads to a lower heart rate. People of all levels are welcome to participate in the class, and no experience is required.

Organizers have put several health guidelines in place. First, the number of total participants will be limited, and social distancing of a minimum of six feet must be maintained. If people must be closer than the recommended distance, masks must be worn. In addition, everyone should bring their own snack, water, hiking gear, and yoga mat. Attendees are also asked to let organizers know before the event if they will need a hiking buddy. Banner printing can be used to create directional Signs for outdoor events like this.

The fee is $20, which goes to pay the instructor. If there is money left over, it will used to fund the PNW Scholarship Fund.
